Process
In the interest of maintaining user privacy, the verification channel is set up such that only users with a certain role, "awaiting verification", can see it.
You obtain the role manually through me giving it to you when you join or through pinging me for it, in #owner-mod-ping. I will manually give it to you when I am available. This will give you access to the verification channel, where the actual messages are sent.
In further interests of privacy, the messages used to verify you are deleted from the channel after the verification is completed, so future prospective users will not see them.
As a result of the process, I can only verify one person at a time. This may seem cumbersome, but it's the best way for me to personally keep track of who is in here.
Attempts at verification that are sent in the verification info channel will be accepted, but the verification channel exists for further privacy if wanted, as only mods and those currently awaiting verification can see it.
While you don't have to follow this template exactly, your verification message needs to have at least the following information:
Name you want to use in this server:
System name if applicable:
Pronouns:
Age or age range (more specific than 18+):
At least one social media account or website you run that states your age (can be just 18+), ideally 2-3:
How you found this server:
Any particular reasons for wanting to join the server (if applicable):
Something you think you'll like about the server:
Restate one of the rules or policies in your own words:
Any other details you'd like to share:
Do you agree to follow and accept the rules and policies:
What you want your channel name to be (if you already know):
Not all requests to join the server will necessarily be accepted, and not everyone will be told why they were denied entry. However, we err on the side of including rather than excluding.
Messages sent by prospective server users will be deleted by the owner or a moderator after verification, in the interest of protecting user privacy.
